Today we're at sea and awaiting to visit our last port of Brugges, Belgium (tomorrow). The cruise ship offered a sushi making class today....and who loves sushi more than we do? Our sushi chef was going to teach us how to make four different kinds of sushi.
Start with a snowball-sized portion of sushi rice and spread it across the nori sheet. Layer on top your fillings (single ingredient or combination) and then gently start rolling! Once the roll is sealed, take the bamboo mat and lightly squeeze, pressing gently on the top and sides, to compress the roll and form a rough square shape.
I thought our sushi looked pretty good BEFORE the chef cut them up! Take a look at how awesome the plate looks AFTER he's finished putting his professional pizzazz to our sushi rolls.
All that sushi rolled right off our chopsticks and into our mouths! A delicious day at sea!
