Ice, Ice, Boobies!

Our first port on the cruise is Oslo, Norway. At each port we decided to pre-book an excursion to venture off the ship and explore Northern Europe. Here we go!
Today, we chose a city walking tour with a visit to the Magic Ice Bar. Parked right beside the cruise ship at port was the Akershus Fortress. This medieval castle was built to protect Oslo, the capital of Norway.
The Nobel Peace Prize is defined as the “world’s most prestigious prize” in the Oxford Dictionary. According to Alfred Nobel’s will, the prize has been awarded in Oslo ever since its beginning in 1901, while the other four prizes are handled in Sweden. Pictured above is the Oslo City Hall where the Nobel Peace Prize ceremony takes place each year.
Time to bundle up as we enter the Ice Bar! This entire place is constructed of crystal clear ice – even the glasses at the bar are ice! The exhibition consists of dramatically-lit sculptures and installations with colorful LED lighting to further enhance the ice experience.
It was soooooo cold in this bar that it literally killed my camera battery in 5 minutes! One minute we were snapping photos of the bar (and boobies!) and the next minute the camera was dead.
